CATVENT CATALYST
A catalytic recombination vent designed explicitly for flooded/vented cells in stationary battery applications. It efficiently recombines hydrogen and oxygen back into water before it leaves the cell.
Battery Technology | Flooded / Vented Battery
Part no. | CTL-200, CTL-210
Intrinsically Safe Design
The CTL-200 provides a superior level of safety by eliminating explosive hydrogen gas emissions. It's designed to be intrinsically safe, even during unintended overcharge conditions. A combination of its self-limiting catalytic core and ultra-high-temperature materials ensures the recombination process remains stable and secure under virtually all operating conditions.
Virtually Maintenance-Free Operation
By leveraging its highly efficient MicroCAT catalyst, the CTL-200 efficiently recombines Hydrogen and Oxygen back into water before they leave the cell. This recycling process dramatically reduces water loss, making the battery virtually maintenance-free by eliminating the frequent, costly need to top up the electrolyte.
Optimized Performance with Low-Profile Design
The CTL-200 uses hygroscopic absorption to achieve high recombination efficiency without the need for large external condensing surfaces. This allows for a low-profile, compact design. Additionally, its low-pressure, 2-way vent system seals the cell to maximize recombination time while providing essential overpressure and vacuum protection, effectively transforming a standard flooded cell into a more robust, valve-regulated type.
Near Zero Water Loss,
Near Zero Gassing
Achieving over 99%* effectiveness in recombining gases back into water vapour.
*93% as CTL-210
Why CatVent Catalyst
Hygroscopic Efficiency
Utilizing the hygroscopic environment of the cell, not condensation.
Gas Neutralization
Capable of neutralizing hydrogen sulfide, stibine, arsine and amines.
Self-Limiting Catalytic Design
Prevent damage to the unit or the cell.
Lower Ventilation
Significant reduction in dangerous gasses and lower ventilation costs.
Pure Water
Eliminates the risk of adding contaminated water to the cells.
Capability to handle overcurrent without degradation
Testing has shown the capability to safely handle 50 amps of overcurrent without degradation.
