Maximise Battery Performance with Pure Water from the Tap

Hard water from your home or warehouse is safe to drink, but the minerals it contains mainly calcium and magnesium, can severely damage industrial batteries. These minerals affect cell voltages, increase self-discharge, and lead to shortened run times and reduced battery life.

Adding a water softener doesn’t help, as it introduces sodium, and municipal “city water” isn’t ideal either due to chlorine and fluoride. These impurities are dissolved in the water and can’t be removed with conventional filters.

Traditionally, distilled water was used to ensure battery-safe water, but producing it is costly and energy-intensive. Reverse osmosis works too, but systems are slow and expensive to install and maintain.
